Probe into teen girl’s ‘gang rape’ party claim
GARDAI are reportedly investigating a complaint that five schoolboys had sex with an intoxicated teenage girl at a student party in Dublin’s southside.
The girl disclosed to friends that she was so intoxicated she had sex with five boys aged 14 and 15. But she has named the boys with whom she claimed to have had sex.
It is understood that gardai are interviewing the students who attended the house party.
The Sunday World reported that all of whom are pupils of a top fee-paying secondary schools.
The girl in question was below the age of legal consent. Issues of statutory rape and gang rape are central to the investigation.
Gardai are also interviewing a number of the girl’s acquaintances about the allegations.
The girl, who said she drank a large quantity of vodka, is aged below the legal age of consent of 17.
She was reported to have been terrified that she might be pregnant, according to a report in the Sunday World.
She also became very anxious that the multiple acts of sexual intercourse may have been recorded on mobile phones and sent to others.
Gardai are also examining texts and social network messages of the children involved in their search for evidence.
The incident took place in a home in a busy housing estate on the city’s southside.
Gardai have been liaising with the parents of the young people involved.
