ORGANISERS of an annual redhead festival hope that ginger royalty will one day grace the event.
The Irish Red Head Festival in Crosshaven, Co Cork, has singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran top of their dream guest list, but others include Prince Harry, actor Damian Lewis, actress Emma Stone and 'Ginger Spice' Geri Halliwell.
Joleen Cronin and her brother Dennis, who needless to say are both redheads, launched the festival five years ago to mark their birthday.
"The joke was that we'd have a birthday bash and only invite people with red hair. It kind all spiralled out of that," Joleen said.
The siblings, whose family run Cronin's Bar in the seaside village, even decided to formally invite Prince Harry to attend.
But Crosshaven locals admitted that his grandmother's famous 2011 visit to Cork was probably the closest they'd ever get to British royalty.
The weekend aims to celebrate everything about having red hair, the world's rarest colour - and to combat the teasing that redheads have to endure.
This year's festival runs until tomorrow, and is expected to be attended by over 500 red heads and 4,000 foxy 'wannabes'.
