PRESS Ombudsman Professor John Horgan is to appear at a UK House of Commons committee to discuss how the print media is regulated in Ireland.
The Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport will hear from Prof Horgan and chairman of the Press Council of Ireland Daithi O'Ceallaigh by videolink this morning.
The committee is hearing from a range of experts following the publication of the Leveson Report into the practices of the British press, including the now-defunct 'News of the World'.
Mr O'Ceallaigh and Prof Horgan will be questioned about the role and functions of the Press Council and Ombudsman.
