President Michael D Higgins has in his possession the one thing that every Hollywood star wants right now -- an Oscar.
Visitors to the Aras have been amazed to see the famous gold statuette on his desk.
However, the 72-year-old explained that he is looking after it for the family of the late actor Peter O'Toole who died last December at the age of 81.
It's the only Oscar ever won by the former hellraiser during his long career, although he was nominated a staggering eight times.
The star received the Honorary Academy Award from Meryl Streep in 2003.
President Higgins said: "His daughter Kate asked me to look after it.
"Kate is in London and this was here in Ireland so she gave it to me for safe-keeping as I'd be one of Peter's oldest friends.
"It's rather heavy. You wouldn't think it to look at it. I believe it is made of iron and then covered in gold."
The President was one of the first to pay tribute to the star when he passed away following a long illness. Mr Higgins said that: "Ireland has lost one of the giants of film and theatre -- Peter brought an extraordinary standard to bear as an actor.
"My wife Sabina and I will miss him, as will all those who saw him on screen or stage."
