What he will get

As a former Cabinet minister, Mr Shatter can claim €70,000 over the next two years – which does not include his basic pay as a TD.

When he retires, Mr Shatter (63) will also be entitled to a ministerial pension of €21,000 a year. But he won't be paid the pension while he is still a sitting TD.

Mr Shatter will also get a TD's pension of €43,500 while a retiring TD also gets a lump sum payment of one-and-a-half-years salary, worth €130,500.
