'This is how public transport is supposed to work' - Minister jeered by Irish fans at Euros

Transport Minister Shane Ross was jeered by a group of Irish fans as he tipped down in Bordeaux for Euro 2016 today.

A video, captured by Independent.ie shows the moment Minister Ross arrived at the temporary Irish consulate in the French city.

A group of Irish fans who were waiting for a tram, cheered as he emerged from his car.

One supporter then shouted : "Minister, this is how public transport is supposed to work."

Minister Ross took it all in his stride and simply laughed with the supporters.

Shane Ross (Ind) is in the city in his capacity as Minister for Sport. He is scheduled to attend the Ireland and Belgium clash in Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux this afternoon.

Super Junior Minister with Responsibility for Disabilities Finian McGrath is also in the city for the game. The pair will be joined by Irish Ambassador to France Geraldine Byrne Nason.
