TD ordered out of Dáil amid 'bullying' claims

MAVERICK Independent TD Peter Matthews has been ordered out of the Dail after a dispute with the Ceann Comhairle.

During exchanges over speaking time, Deputy Matthews - elected for Dublin South in 2011 but contesting Dublin Rathdown in the next election - alleged that he had been "bullied."

The Ceann Comhairle, Seán Barrett, said the TD must withdraw that allegation.  When Deputy Matthews refused to withdraw, Mr Barrett said he would have to leave the chamber.
