TD Keating outraged at 'friend from Isis' insult by Coppinger

A Dublin TD described in the Dáil as "the Tánaiste's friend from Isis" has described the attack by Ruth Coppinger as "outrageous, despicable and totally false".
Derek Keating has told the Irish Independent he was shocked by the flow of insults across the Dáil chamber - especially since the Anti-Austerity Alliance deputy appears to have mixed him up with his Tipperary colleague Noel Coonan.
Mr Coonan previously warned that Ireland faces "an Isis situation" if the more extreme elements of water charge protests are not "nipped in the bud".
Mr Keating has written to the Ceann Comhairle seeking action against Ms Coppinger and stating the comments "cannot be allowed to stand on the record of the House without challenge".
Ms Coppinger was not available for comment.
