Sinn Fein has allowed Meath West TD Peadar Toibin back into the party after he was suspended for voting against the abortion legislation.
Mr Toibin rejoins the party ahead of this weekend's Sinn Fein Ard Fheis in Wexford, where the abortion issue will again be debated.
A motion is down at the Ard Fheis to allow party TDs to have a free vote on issues of conscience.
The motion was tabled by 15 Sinn Fein branches from across the country, but three are based in Mr Toibin's home county.
The party leadership will oppose the motion and it is expected to be defeated.
Mr Toibin officially rejoined the party on Monday night, attending his first branch meeting in his hometown of Navan.
The Sinn Fein TD said he was delighted to be back in "my political home".
