New TD will fly flag alone in poll battle

THE Labour Party is expected to run just one candidate in the Dublin South-East constituency at the next general election when Ruairi Quinn retires.
Labour won two seats in the 2011 general election, with Mr Quinn being joined by new TD Kevin Humphreys.
Mr Humphreys is contesting the next general election.
Mr Quinn was expected to be replaced on the party ticket by his nephew, Oisin Quinn.
Oisin Quinn was the Lord Mayor of Dublin for the past year. But he dramatically lost his seat on Dublin City Council in the local elections.
The defeat dented his chances of running in the general election.
Given Labour's support levels, the party will be fighting to retain just one seat and is expected to run just one candidate, Mr Humphreys.
