Life in the cycle lane: the Minister for Transport is appealing for his assistant’s lost shoes.
Leo Varadkar made the plea for help via his personal Twitter account today, urging his 7,000 followers to keep their eyes peeled.
My assistant lost their shoes cycling in from Navan Road. If anyone finds a pair of black men's shoes - please advise.— Leo Varadkar (@campaignforleo) June 23, 2014
Tweeters are now referring to the incident as #shoegate.
Though no official statements have been released, it appears Navan Road residents are up in arms- audibly searching the streets for the missing loafers.
While the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport comes to terms with the cataclysm, one college student had the following suggestion for Mr Varadkar:
"I'm sure you could waste some of your over paid wages of a new pair for him/her"
