Lynch fury over claim of resignation
JUNIOR minister Kathleen Lynch has reacted furiously to claims by Fianna Fail that she threatened to resign from the Health Department.
In her first public comments on the issue, Ms Lynch described the claim that she threatened to quit as "fantasy".
During heated exchanges with Fianna Fail health spokesperson Billy Kelleher, the Labour TD said she would never quit as minister.
The pair clashed in the Dail over the Government's 'vision for change' policy which aims to advance mental health services in Ireland.
He said that Ms Lynch threatened to resign over mental health cuts which prompted an angry reaction from her.
"I have a job to do and I intend to do it, despite the fact that there is so much opposition in relation to the vision for change and its implementation," she said.
