FORMER Junior Minister John Perry has called on Taoiseach Enda Kenny to stick to his word and add him to Fine Gael General Election ticket.
Speaking at the Fine Gael parliamentary party meeting in Leinster House, Mr Perry reminded those present that Mr Kenny assured members that every sitting TD would be allowed contest the election.
He called on the Taoiseach to live up to this promise and add him to the ticket in Sligo/North Leitrim after he failed to get selected.
Mr Perry reminded members that Jobs Minister Richard Bruton was added in Dublin Bay North after he failed to garner enough votes from delegates.
Speaking after the meeting, Mr Perry said he would not run as Independent if he was not selected.
“I’m Fine Gael and I’m going Fine Gael and I expect the Taoiseach to fulfil the promise he made in the parliamentary party room,” Mr Perry said.
