Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O'Connor loses yet another key advisor

Less than two months after the shock resignation of TV3 broadcaster Alan Cantwell, Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O'Connor has lost yet another key advisor.

Former Labour advisor Jim McGrath, who previously worked under Alan Kelly, announced yesterday that he is to step down from his role as policy advisor.

The Jobs Minister has said she has now appointed Ellen Lynch, formerly of the IDA, as her new press advisor.

Ms Lynch previously worked in print and broadcast media.

Mr McGrath will officially step down from his role with from January 20th.

Ms O’Connor said of his departure:  'I am very grateful to Jim for his professionalism, hard work and dedication during his time with the Department and I would like to wish him the very best in what will no doubt be a very successful future career.'
