Fianna Fáil leader Micheal Martin has warned his front bench TDs to desist from leaking from private meetings.

Mr Martin said recent leaks from a strategy meeting in Dublin City have proven to be "undermining".

The meeting took place at the Mont Clare hotel last Thursday - around the same time 12 Fine Gael TDs came out publicly in support of Leo Varadkar.

Details of the meeting were published in the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent.

But at yesterday's meeting of the Fianna Fáil front bench , Mr Martin said he was deeply unhappy about the leaks.

"He is very paranoid about that sort of thing," one source said.
