Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore been called on resign by one of his own party members over disability cuts at the party's annual conference.

The call was made by a member of Labour's Finglas branch during a debate over a motion  condemning the effects that Government spending cuts have had on people with disabilities.

But Junior Minister for Disability Kathleen Lynch defended the Government's record.
