Tonight's event is being held in the Clyde Court Hotel in Ballsbridge.

Mr Mallon was accompanied by members of his familiy, including grandchildren Grace (10), Maria (7) and five-year-old Lara Lenny.

Guests at the event tonight include Tanaiste Joan Burton, former Tanaiste and PD leader Mary Harney, former Minister for Justice Nora Owen, former Minister for Finance Charlie McCreevy, broadcaster and journalist Olivia O'Leary and Dr Alasdair McDonnell.
