Fine Gael Senator Catherine Noone is charging supporters €125 to have dinner with Finance Minister Michael Noonan to raise funding ahead of the forthcoming General Election.
Ms Noone's financial backers will be invited to the exclusive Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill in Donnybrook, Dublin 4 next month to dine with the candidate and hear an after-dinner speech from Mr Noonan.
Supporters have the option of paying for a single ticket for €125 or handing over €1,250 for a table of 10.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, Ms Noone insisted the ticket price was "well below the going rate" and said other Fine Gael candidates had been charging up to €500 for fundraising dinners.
The senator said invitations from party colleagues had become more frequent as the General Election approaches.
"I have to do this to get a few quid together and hopefully I don't have to wreck people's heads asking for money again," Ms Noone said.
