ONE of the Dail's youngest TDs has married her long-term sweetheart at a low-key ceremony in Waterford.
Labour deputy Ciara Conway (33) chose picturesque Lismore Castle to tie the knot with party colleague and local election candidate, Gary Honer.
Ms Conway, the party's Waterford TD, wore a full-length white dress at the gathering.
Although the celebrations took place during one of the stormiest days of the year, the bride said that the wedding itself was "magical".
"It was such a fabulous day for all of us.
"The ceremony at Lismore Castle was just magical and I feel very special," Ms Conway told the Irish Independent.
Ms Conway's 11-year-old daughter Aeva-May was given a starring role in the ceremony.
"She was really involved, which made it such a wonderful day, having Aeva-May involved made it extra magical."
Thankfully for the bride and groom, the bad weather abated in time for the official wedding photographs outside the castle.
Ms Conway met her husband 12 years ago during their involvement in Labour Youth. Mr Honer will now switch his attention to the local elections next summer, where he will run as a candidate in the Crumlin/Kimmage ward in Dublin.
