More than half of the attendees of an upcoming jobs convention are expected to seek opportunities here in Ireland.
Jobs Minister Richard Bruton was on hand to launch the Career Zoo event in Dublin yesterday, which is set to take place in the capital on September 13.
Last year, more than 10,000 job seekers attended the event in Dublin's Convention Centre, and 55pc of those were seeking opportunities in the tech sector.
Representatives from some of the world's "most innovative companies and institutes" will be at the event, all hoping to "fill thousands of high-tech employment opportunities".
Career Zoo is now in its eighth year and a spokesperson said that the event has "adapted to reflect" the constantly changing job market.
This year 'Tech Town' will be launched at the event, as well as 'BioCluster' which aims to highlight the thriving Irish scientific and research industry.
Exhibitors include Salesforce.com, Liberty IT, Amgen and Bank of Ireland. .
