GARDAI have announced the seizure of €5m in cash and cannabis herb as well as firearms and ammunition in Ireland, the Netherlands and Germany.

The seizures were made as  part of ‘Operation Majesty’ following searches today.

Searches were carried out in Dublin and Meath.

Two men, one in his thirties and another in his forties, were arrested and both are being detained under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

The international operation is a joint venture between the Garda National Drugs Unit working closely with Dutch, German and UK authorities in relation to one Dutch-based gang with Irish connections, Gardai said last night.

In May of this year Dutch police seized 20 high-value vehicles including a Rolls Royce, three Bentleys and six Harley Davidsons.
