Players take to the pitch for ill brothers' fund

Published 07/01/2013 | 05:00

SOCCER and hurling stars are preparing to clash on the field to raise funds for two brothers suffering from a rare disease.

Ryan Caulfield-McCormack (6) is recovering in hospital in the US after a bone marrow transplant. Medics hope the transplant will help him battle ALD or Adrenoleukodystrophy.

The little boy and his brother Ethan (4) were both diagnosed with the genetic disorder.

Waterford United Stars will take on Waterford Hurling Legends on February 2.

Donations can be made through Bank of Ireland in Tramore, account number 18 59 69 22, sort code 90-47-04.
