A YOUNG Galway man remains in an induced coma in Perth more than two weeks after he sustained a serious spinal injury while jumping into a pool.

Ryan Croker (25) from Moycullen, Co Galway, suffered serious neck and back injuries in a freak accident when he jumped into a shallow pool at his rented home in Perth on January 26.

His mother Kathleen, sister Grace and cousin David travelled over to Perth two weeks ago to be by his side.

Ryan's father Pat, brother Keith and extended family were joined by hundreds of locals in Moycullen for fundraising events yesterday.

Locals aim to raise €200,000 to bring Ryan home. Up to 140 took part in a charity horse trek in the village, while more than 400 gathered for an auction.

Anyone who wishes to donate to the fund can do so via the Ryan Croker Benefit Fund on Facebook.
