A BROADCASTER who allegedly masturbated in front of horrified air travellers will not return to radio until the New Year at least, his employer said yesterday.
Cork DJ Neil Prendeville has not presented his weekday talk show on Cork's 96fm since the beginning of November.
According to his employer he will not return to the show, which regularly attracted 100,000 listeners, until gardai and 96fm have completed their enquiries into the events of October 19.
Station CEO Kieran McGeary said the break would give Mr Prendeville and his family time to "deal with the situation".
Mr McGeary said there had been a huge amount of public interest in whether Mr Prendeville would be returning to the airwaves.
It is alleged that Mr Prendeville masturbated during take-off on an Aer Lingus flight from Heathrow to Cork.
