'Pipe bomb' at SF office was a hoax
A WELL-CONSTRUCTED 'pipe bomb' planted at a constituency office used by Sinn Fein's deputy leader Mary Lou McDonald has turned out to be a hoax.
An area around the office, at North Strand in Dublin, was sealed off yesterday as Army bomb-disposal experts were called in.
Gardai said the hoax was probably the work of dissident republicans.
The walls of the constituency office were daubed with "Brits out" and "RUC out" slogans.
