Pilot rental scheme in city

AN experimental "choice-based" rental scheme, for people who cannot afford their own home, will be put in place by Dublin City Council.
Yesterday the council said that the plan would be introduced "on a pilot basis" in the south Finglas and Darndale areas of the city.
The scheme will allow people awaiting council house allocation in those areas to apply to be housed in vacant properties.
This scheme will run for six months and may be extended to other areas if it proves to be successful.
