A WOMAN has died after being hit by a heavy goods vehicle in Co Mayo yesterday.
Gardaí in Castlebar are investigating the incident which occurred at Aughadrina, Castlebar.
The HGV hit the pedestrian, aged 80, at about 1.05pm on N84. The woman was taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar, where she was later pronounced dead.
