Pedestrian dies after midnight road accident

A man in his 60s has died after he was struck by a vehicle on the Naas to Clane road just after midnight.

The pedestrian was seriously injured in the acciident at Sallins village, Co.Kildare at around 12.30am.



He was taken to Naas General Hospital but he was later pronounced dead.



The road has been closed for a forensic investigation and diversions are in place.



Gardaí want to speak to the driver of a white van that was seen in the area around the time of the incident.
