Paws for thought: Quinn's plea to give a dog a home

Model and "mother of 10" Gillian Quinn is urging animal lovers to adopt a dog to raise vital funds for the PAWS Animal Rescue service which is at over-capacity with dogs.
The wife of former footballer Niall Quinn is the proud owner of no less than 10 dogs and is urging anyone looking to expand their own family to consider adopting a dog through the Tipperary-based shelter.
Its rehoming centre in Mullinahone has 108 dogs needing homes yet has capacity for just 70 dogs. "PAWS has more adult dogs to rehome than any other rehoming facility in Ireland at the moment and desperately needs funds for vet bills and basics for the dogs," she said.
However, the centre – which last week alone spent €11,000 on upkeep and vet bills – urgently needs donors to stay open.
