Parents keep toddler in creche despite his escape
THE toddler who walked home after he managed to escape from a creche will remain at the facility, his parents have decided, writes Luke Byrne.
Daniel Nwoke (3) has returned to the Beechtree Childcare Centre, in west Dublin, after his parents spoke to management of the facility.
Last Friday morning, Daniel managed to operate a release button at the main door of the building and walk out.
He travelled around 400m toward his home in Foxdene.
Daniel's father Vitus Nwoke told the Irish Independent yesterday that the family had accepted that the incident was a mistake. He said staff at the creche had apologised.
"They brought us in and showed us how they had changed the locks, the security and everything," Mr Nwoke said.
"We are quite happy and they have been very good. Daniel is back there now, he's happy."
