A MAN in his 40's has died and another is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Trim, Co Meath early this morning.
The incident happened on Castle Street in the town at around 12.50am this morning.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Our Ladys Hospital in Navan.
A second male in his 20's was also struck by the car and has been taken to Our Lady's Hospital in Drogheda where his injuries are described as serious.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
This road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
