One man dead and another injured after double shooting

One man has died and another is injured after a double shooting in Dublin this evening.

The incident occurred on Shelerin road area of Blanchardstown shortly after 6pm.

One man was shot in the arm, the other is understood to have been shot in the head.

The man with head injuries is understood to have died.

Both men were taken to Connolly Hospital.

Initial reports suggest the gunman was disguised as a woman, and used an automatic weapon.

Gardai believe the victim was not the intended target, and was shot up to eight times.

The area has been sealed off.
