ONE million is definitely the lucky number for Joe Murray.
The Smithfield local was presented with a prize of a two-night stay in Paris yesterday after he became the one millionth user of the dublinbikes scheme in the capital.
Lord Mayor Gerry Breen was on hand as organisers celebrated the first 11 months of the bikes being in operation.
The one million cycle trips taken on the bikes have made the scheme one of the most successful of its type in the world.
It took less than a year since the scheme's launch for Mr Murray to take to the saddle and become the one millionth user.
There are currently over 40,000 members of the scheme and the vast majority of the journeys taken have been free.
