WE have all heard of wedding fairs – but Dublin is now hosting its biggest funeral show.
The two-day 'Funeral Times' trade show which began yesterday has been bringing together professionals from the industry all under one roof at Citywest.
For those who want to see out the last mile in style, a motorbike which can bring the coffin to its final resting place has been attracting great interest at the show.
The Triumph Rocket 3 has already been used for a number of funerals, according to Cathie Adams, who is based in Co Down.
She said that a funeral director would call them if the motorbike was requested, and her husband drives the motorbike.
Conor MacCarrick, the commercial director of In House Publications said: "Funeral Times has been going 15 years as a trade magazine. This year we decided to hold a trade show, and we have been delighted at the response by the exhibitors and suppliers.
"Funeral directors, embalmers, stone masons, morticians, are among the the members of the industry at the event, and the seminars being held are proving extremely popular," he said.
He said that the event was strictly a trade show for the funeral industry.
