Oh deer! Headless moose on the loose
WHAT do you do with a moose with no head? You put it in the back of a van, of course.
Or at least that's the case if the moose in question is an attraction at an exhibition in the National Museum of Ireland.
Our picture shows workers taking away the headless moose for some much-needed reconstructive surgery. The stuffed animal is part of the 'Dead Zoo at Large' display, currently at the Collins Barracks museum in Dublin. The exhibition also includes giant deer, Spoticus the giraffe, and families of badgers, foxes and otters and runs until April 11.
It takes the place of the usual displays at the Natural History Museum at Merrion Street in the capital, which has been closed for the past year due to refurbishment works after the collapse of a stairwell in 2007.
