IT'S the 'Little and Large' show.
Fota Wildlife Park yesterday introduced two new giraffes at the east Cork park -- one an 18ft giant male called Walder and the other a yet-to-be-named calf, writes Ralph Riegel.
Walder is now the biggest giraffe at the tourist attraction. Born in the Czech Republic in 2001, he arrived in Fota from South Lakes Wild Animal Park in Cumbria, England.
He towers over the baby giraffe which was born on March 11.
But the baby, pictured here with his mother, Sapphire, already stands over six feet high.
It is hoped he will soon have a name -- Fota is running a national competition to pick a name for the new baby.
Fota director Sean McKeown said he was thrilled with the two new arrivals.
President Mary McAleese will officially open the lavish new entrance complex at Fota on April 11.
