Officers and family unharmed after Belfast explosion

Police officers and a family have escaped serious injury following a blast bomb attack in Belfast.

Police in Northern Ireland tonight confirmed that nobody was injured after the explosion after adevice was thrown at police in the Falls Road area of west Belfast tonight.

A PSNI vehicle was damaged in the attack, but police have said they are no reports of any injuries.

It's understood a family who were passing nearby in their car were caught up in the blast.

Dissident republicans have been suspected in the attack.
