Nurses stage work stoppage

FOURTEEN operations were postponed at one of the country's busiest hospitals yesterday as nurses staged a work stoppage.

Patients due to undergo specialist surgery for head and neck procedures at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick had to wait until yesterday afternoon.

All morning appointments were postponed.

Nurses claim the HSE is not addressing their concerns about patient overcrowding.
