Norris team bitter at lack of thanks after failed bid
SENATOR David Norris wants his old campaign team back to work on his presidential bid, despite failing to thank them for their previous work.
But some consider the request to be a step too far, considering Mr Norris's failure to acknowledge their previous efforts on his behalf.
Mr Norris wrote yesterday to the supporters who worked on his original campaign, which ended in controversy in August.
A source said: "Not a peep out of him to his supporters when he withdrew first, now when he wants help again he writes to us. He can forget about it."
Mr Norris begins his message with an apology for not contacting the workers earlier.
"I am contacting you to apologise, first of all for the delay in sending a message of thanks to you for volunteering for my presidential campaign earlier in the year. This ended as you know rather suddenly, which was a difficult time not just for me but for those of you who volunteered and for this I am genuinely sorry," he says.
Mr Norris said he was "looking forward" to working the supporters on "a very exciting campaign".
