Finance Minister Michael Noonan says the Budget is still going to be "very difficult", despite new economic figures.
The statistics from the CSO show the economy returned to growth in the second quarter of the year.
But Mr Noonan was dampening expectations of an easier Budget.
"The figures are more or less in line with expectations. There's still a very difficult Budget coming," he said.
Earlier this week, the minister said he would await the publication of the CSO figures and the forthcoming Exchequer Returns before deciding on the Budget package.
