No time off for Healy-Rae after eye surgery
Michael Healy-Rae has said he is not going to let painful eye surgery get in the way of his workload as he burned the midnight oil last night, just hours after the operation.
The Kerry TD underwent the procedure to remove cysts from his left eye yesterday evening. This is the second time he has undergone the procedure. But despite just having a needle plunged into his eye, he was back in his office sending letters to constituents a short time later.
"I can't let this get in my way, I have even done myself further injury and walked into an open press with my lack of vision in one eye. But I cant let that stop me. It is 11.30 at night now and I'll still be here in two hours."
