No respite in sight from floods torment

Heavy rain, strong winds and high tides are set to bring more misery on top of the flooding that devastated swathes of the country over the weekend.

The very unsettled weather is forecast to continue for the rest of the week, with a risk of above-average rainfall and flooding. Met Eireann has also put in place a 'status orange' wind warning.
