FOOTBALL legend Johnny Giles is pictured with Irish Independent editor Gerry O'Regan (left) and 'Evening Herald' editor Stephen Rae (right) as the papers were announced as the official media partners of the John Giles Foundation's Walk of Dreams.
On Sunday, March 27, thousands of sports supporters will walk in 14 centres across Ireland to raise money to build better football clubs, schools and communities.
The walk will be led by members of the senior Irish international football squad as well as other well-known celebrities.
The biggest walk will take place in Dublin, ending at the Aviva Stadium.
"I call on everyone who loves Irish football to walk in our Walk of Dreams.
"All over Ireland we will walk to celebrate the beautiful game and raise funds for football-based community projects," said Mr Giles.
The newspapers will carry regular reports on the build-up to the big day.
"This is a particularly worthy cause and I urge anybody who can support it to do so," said Mr O'Regan.
