Young woman fighting for life after a suspected hit-and-run
Gardaí have appealed for help after a young woman was left in a 'critical condition' after a suspected hit-and-run after a night out in Dublin.
Gardaí at Blanchardstown have confirmed that the woman, aged in her mid 30's, was located, seriously injured, at Lohunda Dale, Clonsilla, Dublin 15 on Sunday morning at approximately 3.40am.
She was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital. Her condition is described as critical.
A garda spokesman confirmed they are investigating the possibility that this woman may be the victim of a hit and run road traffic collision.
Investigators have established that this woman had travelled from Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 in a taxi to the Lohunda area prior to her discovery and are seeking to identify the driver of this taxi, which is not better described.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, particularly those who may have been in the Lohunda Estate/Ongar Distributor Road area between 3.15am and 4.15am Sunday morning, May 8, to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 6667000, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
