A woman in her 30s has been killed in a car crash this morning.

The two vehicle collision happened this morning at around 8.30am on the N18 at Clarinbridge, Co. Galway

The woman's car was involved in a collision with a truck. The woman was the only person in the car.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to University Hospital Galway.

This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Traffic travelling South on the N18 is being asked to divert at Oranmore. Traffic travelling North is being diverted at Kilcolgan.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this collision to contact  Galway Garda Station on 091- 538000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
