A golden retriever dog who features in an upcoming RTE series has been found safe and well.
The dog was located by gardai in Midleton County Cork this afternoon
The young golden has lived with Kathryn Cuddy and Cathal Ó Sé - who are both vets - at their home in Midleton, Cork, since she was a small pup.
This afternoon, Cathal said he was "over the moon" that the dog was found and expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped looked for Sadie and shared the message on social media.
"We're just delighted she's been found," said Cathal.
Sadie went missing from her the garden of her owners Kathryn Cuddy and Cathal Ó Sé last Sunday
The 18-month-old "family member" is set to appear in the first episode of Pet Surgeons with Kathryn, which will be aired on RTE next month.
The brand new series filmed vets at Gilabbey Veterinary Hospital in Togher, Cork - and tells the stories of worried pet owners and sick animals.
Earlier today, Cathal had spoken of his horror at learning his dog had been taken
"It was such an awful thing to come home to. It is really very traumatic...she's still such a young dog," he said.
Kathryn and Cathal had been out on call at emergencies last Sunday afternoon when their beloved pedigree pet went missing from their locked secure garden.
"I rang Kathryn on my way home at around 6.30pm and she was sobbing, telling me that Sadie was missing, before I even got any words out," Cathal said.
"The weather was quite bad at the time, with some thunder, so initially I thought she may have somehow managed to escape and scale the wall."
The couple did not want to believe that someone had taken their dog but said they could not find any other solution.
"Her collar - which closes with a clasp - was removed and left hanging on the garden gate," said Cathal.
