If you’re heading down to Electric Picnic this weekend, pack the waterproofs as the weather looks set to be a washout with heavy rain forecast for across the country.
Met Eireann has revealed that “heavy persistent rain will extend northeastwards to all areas this morning.”
While there will be a clearance to scattered showers in the afternoon, some of the showers will be “heavy with the risk of thunder”.
The only bit of good news is it won't be too cold.
"Temperatures will range between “15 and 17 degrees while further south temperatures may reach as high as 20 degrees in sunny breaks this afternoon,” according to Met Eireann.
There’s some good news for festival-goers on Sunday, as the heavy rain is expected to ease off later this evening.
Sunday’s weather looks to be slightly better, according to Met Eireann, “It will be largely dry with spells of sunshine.
“Once again, however, cloud will begin to thicken from mid afternoon and rain will develop in the southwest in the early evening, extending north and east later.
The highest temperatures tomorrow will be 17 or 18 degrees with mainly light westerly winds.”
