Two men have been arrested in connection with separate drug seizures today, involving drugs with an approximate street value of €95,000 in total.

As part of a planned search of a residence at Oliver Bond House early this morning, some €90,000 worth of heroin was seized by gardai drug units.

A man in his late 20's was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kevin Street Garda Station.

In a follow up search at a second residence in Oliver Bond House, a man in his 30s was arrested and cannabis with an estimated street value of €5,000 was seized.

He was detained at Kilmainham Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 but has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
