GARDAI have arrested two men in connection with the murder of former Real IRA dissident Vincent Ryan.
The men, aged in their 30s, were detained after searches in North and West Dublin early on Tuesday morning.
Ryan (25), a brother of murdered Real IRA chief Alan Ryan, was shot dead two weeks ago as he ate a roll outside his girlfriend’s home in Finglas, North Dublin.
He was buried last week after a large funeral in his native Donaghmede.
A garda spokesman has confirmed that they searched a number of premises in the North and West Dublin areas early on Tuesday morning.
The spokesman continued: "During the course of these searches two men in their 30s were arrested.
"One man is detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at Finglas Garda Station and the second man is detained under Section 30 of the Offenses Against The State Act, 1939 at Blanchardstown Garda Station."
These are the first arrests for this murder.
