Dermot (left) and Dave set to take to the national airwaves

Comic duo Dermot Whelan and Dave Moore are moving from the Dublin broadcaster to the national airwaves.

It comes less than two years after 98FM shocked Today FM by recruiting one of their biggest names, Ray Foley.

'Dermot and Dave', who have been with 98FM for 12 years, plan to make their debut in September.

Whelan has also hosted RTE's 'Republic of Telly' and was a regular on 'The Panel'.

He has performed at both Kilkenny's Cat Laughs and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
